8 Day Highlights of Botswana & Victoria Falls
This small group overland tour with a mix of camping and budged lodge accomodation shows you the highlights of Botswana and Victoria Falls on a budget. You visit the Victoria Falls, Chobe NP, Elephant Sands, the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans and the highlight is the authentic camping safari deep in the the Okavango Delta. All activities and most meals are included during this tour: guided walks, game drives, boating safaris and excursions in traditional dugout canoes.
This tour can done in both directions between Victoria Falls and Maun.
Overview
Day 1: arrival in Victoria Falls, sunset cruise on Zambezi River
Day 2: guided tour of the Victoria Falls, transfer to Chobe and boating Safari
Day 3: game drive in Chobe and transfer to Elephant Sands
Day 4: walking Safari or gamedrive in Elephant Sands and overnight under the stars in the salt pans of Makgadikgadi
Day 5: morning 4×4 drive through the pans and transfer to Okavango Delta
Day 5-7: Inner Okavango Delta WildCamping Safari /activities: Mokoro and walking safaris

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN VICTORIA FALLS (-/-/-)
We welcome you at the airport and take you to your accomodation in Victoria Falls (included) where you can relax and unwind from the journey and prepare for the adventure of the next days.
In the evening you enjoy a SunSet Cruise in Zambezi River on top of the Victoria Falls.
DAY 2: GUIDED TOUR OF THE FALLS & BOATING IN CHOBE RIVER (B/L/-)
A local guide takes you on a guided walking tour through the Victoria Falls Rainforest. You see the Victoria Falls from different angles. You can book additional activities in advance on surcharge.
We then continue to Chobe for lunch and an afternoon/evening boating safari.
DAY 3: GAMEVIEWING IN CHOBE & ELEPHANT SANDS … AN EXPERIENCE NOT TO BE MISSED (B/-/D)
The Riverfront in Chobe National Park is famous for its large numbers of elephants Chobe which attract animal lovers from all over the world.
You start the day with a morning game drive in Chobe in an open 4×4 safari vehicle.
We then continue our journey to Elephant Sands. Enjoy the scenery of this unique place. Elephant Sands gives you the opportunity to observe herds of elephants and other animals from an upclose distance. Sit by the waterhole and view how the animals interact.
DAY 4: VISITING THE SALTPANS & MEERKATS OF MAKGADIKGADI (B/-/-)
In the very early morning you have a cup of coffee and/or tea. Then you go on a guided walking excursion through the bush of the Elephant Sands Game Reserve or on a game drive.
On return you have a full breakfast and time for a last view on the happenings at the waterhole before continuing the journey to Makgadikgadi.
The afternoon is dedicated to the salt pans of the Makgadikgadi. In a 4×4 safari vehicle you explore the dry lands.
First stop is at the colony of Meerkats, who live on the edge of the Ntwetwe salt pan. With a little luck we have the once in a life time opportunity to observe their natural behaviours and charming personalities from almost touching distance!
After visiting the Meerkats we then continue to the vast Ntwetwe salt pan, which forms part of one of the largest salt pans in the world, likened to being on the surface of the moon, the sight of the salt pan is truly one to behold!
Dinner in the Pans, sitting around the camp fire and you sleep under the stars, bedrolls provided. A real adventure!
DAY 5: INTO THE OKAVANGO
After breakfast we continue to Maun and onwards to the Okavango Delta for an authentic camping safari deep inside the watersystem.
The Okavango tour starts with a 1h speedboat cruise to the Buffalo Fence. Because of dryseason or other circumstances we might drive you in a 4×4 vehicle.
At the buffalo fence you meet your poler, who will take you on an unforgettable journey through the channels of the Okavango. Born and raised in the Okavango Delta, our polers and guides show you their home which they are very pationate and knowledgable about. Our experienced polers take you on a journey deep in the watersystem.
Enjoy the peace of the delta in a Mokoro, the traditional onetree-canoe.
At camp on an island our team awaits you with dinner and a fresh bush shower. In the evening you sit around the campfire sharing the stories of the day.
DAY 6: ON THE ISLANDS OF THE OKAVANGO DELTA (B/L/D)
You are woken up with a warm “Dumela“ (setswana = Hello) and a light breakfast waiting for you. After coffee, tea and breakfast you go on your first gameviewing activity (either a nature walk or a canoe excursion). When returning to camp you have the opportunity to shower. Afterwards you will be served brunch. In the afternoon you enjoy a second gameviewing activity. After dinner you once again sit around the fire before falling asleep with the sounds of the bush around you.
Day 7: IN THE CHANNELS OF THE OKAVANGO DELTA (B/L/-)
Enjoy a last DugOut Canoe tour and a last bush walk before heading back to town. For lunch you will rest by the riverside. Before sunset you will arrive in Maun.
Day 8: Departure
We transfer you to the airport where you connect to your departure flight with your baggae full of unforgettable experiences.
